FRESH APPLE CAKE WITH HONEY GLAZE

Ann's Story

I found this recipe on a FaceBook page called Slice of Life!!! It is so good and moist I just had to share it.

Ingredients

GLAZE
1 c
powdered sugar
2 Tbsp
honey
2 Tbsp
milk
CAKE
3 c
honeycrisp or granny smith apples peeled and diced ( i used granny smith in this one and it took 2 large apples)
1 c
lightly toasted walnuts
2 tsp
vanilla
2 tsp
ground cinnamon
3 c
all purpose flour
1 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
salt
2 c
sugar
1 1/4 c
vegetable or canola oil
3
eggs

Directions Step-By-Step

Preheat oven to 325 degrees
lightly grease or spray bundt pan

In a bowl mix the apples, walnuts, vanilla and cinnamon. set aside.
In a seperate bowl sift together the flour, soda and salt.

Beat sugar,oil and eggs in large bowl. Add dry ingredents and beat until combined. (Batter will be thick) Fold in apple mixture.

Scrape batter into sprayed bundt pan and bake on center rack for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. ( mine took 1hr 15 minutes)
Allow cake to cool 45 minutes or so.
turn onto plate and drizzle with glaze

Oh my gooodness. THis is the third time I have made this cake and each time it has disappeared quickly!! My husband says it reminds him of apple fritters without the frying!! The bonus is that it can be made at home and tastes sooooooooo good!!

Hi Ann, As bad as I wanted the Leamon Bars, I was out voted and they want this cake again. Love it. So I am making the lemon bars tomorrow and I will make the cake for Sunday. lol You knew I would get my lemon fix!!!!lol Thanks again for such easy and good recipes...
