I have not found recipe exactly like this one. Very good flavor. We like to eat it just barely warm, the caramel still a little "gooey" with ice cream. While still living in Tx., our MC club had, what we called a "Progression Party", you eat one course at 1 place, like appetizers, salad, cocktails, whatever, next house another course, and proceed to "Dessert". Dessert was Snicker Cake, big hit, good thing she had made 2. Got recipe and been making it for the last 15 years or more. Did not ask where she got recipe, I only knew I wanted it. Happy eating.
Bake cake as directed. Pour half of batter in 9x13 pan, sprayed with cooking spray. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Reduce heat to 250.
While cake is baking, melt caramels, butter and milk in microwave, stir till smooth. Pour over cake in pan and sprinkle chocolate chips and your choice nuts over caramel. Top with remaining cake batter.
Bake at 250 for 20 minutes. Increase oven to 350 and bake for 15 minutes. Let cool several hours before cutting. Serve with ice cream.
