Ingredients

  • cake:
  • 1 package devil's food cake mix
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup semi-sweet mini chocloate chips
  • frosting:
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 5-6 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon orange extract, if desired

How To Make double chocolate sour cream cake

  • Step 1
    Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans. In large bowl, combine cake mix, sour cream, water, oil and eggs at low speed until moistened. Beat 2 minutes at highest speed. Stir in chocolate chips. Pour batter into prepared pans. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes, remove from pans. Cool completely.
  • Step 2
    In small bowl, combine all frosting ingredients, beat at medium speed until smooth and creamy. Fill and frost cake.
