Recipe was given to me by a lady at a family reunion. Do not even remember the ladies name. I tried the recipe and it was very good. Have given it to a lot of people. Thought it would be good recipe to share with everyone. Hope you will enjoy this.

Mix all ingredients and pour in 9 x 13 greased and floured pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until brown. Cool and cut in squares.

Why is it called "cornbread" cake if it doesn't contain corn meal???

I wondered myself why it was call cornbread. It is baked in the oven like cornbread I guess. I have asked and no one knows.

I have a similar recipe, it is called cornbread cake becaus it looks like cornbread when it is done.
