Cream butter and sugar in an electric mixer. Combine dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Mix well.
Fold dry ingredients into the cream mixture alternately with the milk and vanilla.
Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold into mixture. Turn the batter into a greased and floured cake pan. Bake cake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Cool cake in the pan on a rack for 20 minutes. Invert onto rack.
While the cake is baking prepare the frosting. Beat egg whites. Slowly add the sugar. When the frosting is glossy and cream...it's done!
Once the cake has cooled, heap with the white fluffy frosting. Sprinkle with the chocolate curls.
