Kimi's Notes:

A cake that any coconut lover would enjoy. I drizzle chocolate on mine and it complements the mounds candy bars.

Directions

1
Prepare both cake mixes according to box instructions. Use the coconut milk instead of water. Bake in greased 4-9in round baking pans. Bake 350F for 25 minutes or until wooden pick comes out clean.
2
Remove cakes from oven and cool for 10 minutes. Remove from pans and cool completely.
3
In a medium mixing bowl whip the 3 cans of vanilla frosting. Frost cake. To decorate sprinkle cake with coconut all around. Chop candy bars in bite size pieces and spread all around cake. Melt chocolate chips with a little shortening in the microwave. Drizzle all over cake.
4
Note: I keep all my cakes in the refrigerator

It is a favorite of many people. I made it for the headmaster at my sons school. My daughter just made it for her good friend and she told my daughter that no one better touch it.

My favorite! I bet if someone really investigated, this would be
"against the law". I'm sure it's against my doctors orders. I will only taste it, and I'm not telling the doc. Thanks Kimi, I love, love, love cake mix recipes.

I am so glad Sue...I have a secret to share...I am addicted to buying cake mixes. When they go on buy one get one free I go nuts. One time I had over 20. I keep them in the freezer.

Kimi, thank you for sharing. I hadn't thought of putting them in the freezer. I really don't know why I put my flour in there so why not cake mix. Thanks again!!

Yes, because I buy so many I don't want them to go stale. I have been buying them at a store called Aldi (not sure you have heard of that store), but the best are Duncan Hines.

I agree with you Kimi Duncan Hines is the best. No I've never heard of this store but it sounds like they have good sales.

Well it is from Germany. It is a high end Save-a-Lot. You bag your own groceries thing. All off brand name items. That doesn't bother me at all. When I lost my job I started shopping there and I found I really like everythingIi have purchased. So I still shop there. It doesn't have all the things a conventional grocery store so you still have to head over to either Walmart or wherever but I get the bulk of my stuff there.

I guess I'm addicted too. I also keep mine in the freezer. Our Kroger and Meijer had Duncan Hines (my preference too) on sale a couple of weeks ago. I always stock up (24 this time)when they are $1 or less. I used 6 over the weekend for a Birthday party. They are great to have on had for a quick desert. Seems like someone always needs cookies for something. It's much quicker to grab a box of cake mix and make a batch of cookies. (if you haven't made the "Gooey Butter Cookies" on this site, you are missing a little bit of heaven. Aldi's is a great place to save money. I usually stock up on butter (frozen also) for cookie & cake making. We're going to start our holiday baking this week. Kimi, thanks for the great recipes.
