How To Make christmas red velvet trifle w/ eggnog cream cheese

  • 1
CAKE: In stand mixer, mix cake mixes & chocolate puddings (dry) together for about 1 minute. Then follow the rest of the directions on back of pacakge for a 11 x 15" cake pan, adding the red food coloring at this time (with the wet ingredients). Let cake cool completely. You can even let cake sit out overnight (so it gets a little hard - once you place the frosting over it, it'll soften up again)

WHITE & GREEN EGGNOG CREAM CHEESE FROSTINGS: (Make frostings in seperate bowls (2 batches).) In stand mixer, add in pudding, confectioners' sugar & milk; mix well. Add eggnog; mix well. Add cool whip & rum extract; mix well. In one batch, pour all green food coloring in; mix well. Leave other frosting white.

NOTES: I started out using this recipe...https://www.justapinch.com/recipe/debbiethurmond/red-velvet-trifle/cake?k=Red+Velvet+Trifle&p=1&o=r but made quite a few tweaks of my own. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BIG TRIFLE HOLDER TO HOLD ALL OF THIS - IT DOES FEED ALOT!
