Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cake

This recipe is from one of my many cookbooks,I added the chocolate glaze to this recipe, because my family likes chocolate glaze on the Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cookies I bake. ENJOY!

3/4 c
butter, softened
1 1/2 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp
vanilla extract
2 1/2 c
all purpose flour
1 tsp
baking powder
1 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
ground cinnamon
1 can(s)
(15oz.) solid-pack pumpkin
1 c
( 60z.) semi-chocolate chips
2 oz
unsweetened chocolate,melted and cooled
3/4 c
finely chopped pecans, divided
choclate glaze:
3/4 c
semi-sweet chocolate chips
3 Tbsp
butter or margarine
3 Tbsp
corn syrup, light
2-3 tsp
hot water

Directions Step-By-Step

In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.Add eggs one at a time,beating well after each addition.Beat in vanilla.Sift
flour,baking powder,baking soda and cinnamon;add to the creamed mixture alternately with pumpkin,beating well after each addition.Fold in chocolate chips
Divide batter in half. Stir melted chocolate into one portion.In a well greased 10-in.fluted tube pan sprinkle 1/2 cup pecans.Spoon chocolate batter over Pecans;top with pumpkin batter.Sprinkle with remaining pecans.
Bake at 325-degrees for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 15.minutes before removing from pan to wire rack.
Chocolate Glaze: Heat all ingredients except water in 1 quart saucepan over low heat,stirring frequently,until chocolate chips are about 10 minutes.Stir in hot water,1 teaspoon at a time, until consistency of thick syrup.
After cake has cooled put on cake plate. drizzle with chocolate glaze.
the glaze does not have to be could dust it with powdered sugar instead. which ever works for you. Enjoy!
