Jo Ann's Notes:

This is one of the easiest, very moist cake, that you will ever fix. You can use differnt cake mixes, w/ differnt type of fillings also.

Directions

1
Mix eggs, and cake mix good. Add pie filling. Bake @ 350* until done, approx. about 35 to 40 mintues. You can bake this in either a bundt cake pan, 13x9x2, or 3 round cake pans. Which ever you prefer.
2
When cake is cool, use your favorite frosting.

I love this recipe. I will try it with 3 eggs,(mine has 5 eggs). My favorite is to use cherry pie filling with chocolate cake mix. I make the icing with Cool Whip combined with Cheesecake Instant pudding, but as Gail says the different combinations are unlimited.

Glad you liked the cake. It is really awesome w/chocolate cake mix, and strawberry pie filling. I've almost used a yellow cake mix, w/ apple pie filling. Both are very goo. Glad ya'll liked it.
I'll have to try the frosting w/ cool whip and cheesecake instant pudding mmixing sounds good.

Suzie, when you made your icing, did you just make the pudding regular, then add the cool whip?

No, I simply stir the dry pudding mix into the cool whip until it becomes frosting. A very simple recipe they gqave on the local mornig show 10 years ago. cake mix plus 5 eggs = cake AND... instant pudding mix plus cool whip = icing

Our family & friends love this cake! So quick/easy to make! Most of the time, we add 1 teaspoon almond extract to both the cake batter & fudge frosting that we make. It's great without, though, for sure...thank you for sharing this recipe...certainly a keeper!

just wondering about the instant pudding mix for frosting...is it the small box and 8oz tub cool whip or the large box pudding?
