Ingredients For cherry coffee cake

  • COFFEE CAKE:
  • 4 c
    bisquick mix
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1/4 c
    butter, melted
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 2 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp
    almond extract
  • 3 x lg
    eggs
  • 1 - 21 oz. can
    pie filling of your choice (cherry is my favorite)
  • GLAZE:
  • 1 c
    confectioners' sugar
  • 1 - 2 Tbsp
    milk

How To Make cherry coffee cake

    Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease bottom & sides of 15 x 10 x 1" pan or 2 (9") square pans with shortening or cooking spray. In large bowl, stir all coffee cake ingredients except pie filling; beat vigorously with spoon 30 seconds.

    Spread 2/3 of the batter (about 2 1/2 C) in 15 x 10" pan or 1/3 of the batter (about 1 1/4 C) in each square pan. Spread pie filling over batter (filling may not cover batter completely). Drop remaining batter by Tbsp onto pie filling.

    Bake 20 - 25 minutes or until light brown. Meanwihle, in small bowl, stir glaze ingredients until smooth & thin enough to drizzle. Drizzle glaze over warm coffee cake. Serve warm or cool.

    VARIATIONS: You can use just about any pie filling they make, but Cherry is my favorite! TO MAKE SMALLER COFFE CAKE: This recipe is easy to cut in 1/2. Use one 9" square pan. Use 2 eggs & substitute a 10 oz. jar of fruit preserves for the pie filling. Divide remaining ingredient amounts in 1/2.
