I have had this recipe for about 30 years, I can't even remember where I got it from. This is my husband and my favorite cake.

Ingredients

1 c
crisco
2 c
sugar
4
eggs
2 1/2 c
all purpose flour
1/2 c
self rising flour
1 c
milk
2 Tbsp
butter nut flavoring
FROSTING
1-(8) oz
cream cheese, softened
1 stick
butter
1 box
confectioners' sugar
2 Tbsp
butter nut flavoring
1 c
chopped nuts

Directions Step-By-Step

Cream sugar, crisco and eggs. Add 1 cup of all purpose flour and beat, add rest of ingredients and beat until well mixed. Pour into 2 or 3 greased and floured cake pans.(Depends on how thick you want the layers) Bake at 350 degrees for about 25-30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool on wire racks 10 minutes in pans the turn onto rack and completely cool.

Frosting: Cream butter and cream cheese, add sugar and flavoring, beat until mixed. Stir in pecans.

No there is not any salt or baking powder or soda, the self rising flour takes care of that. I'm sorry it took so long to answer I have been on vacation and had no computer. I hope you enjoy the cake as much as we do.

Do you not add salt or baking powder or soda? Just curious. I love this flavor and I am going to tr the cake.
