This is an old recipe of my mother-in-law's. There is no time or number of servings. It is a good cake recipe.

Ingredients

2 c
sugar
1/2 c
butter
2 large
eggs
2 c
buttermilk
1 c
pecans, in pieces
1 c
raisins boiled & cooled and rolled in flour
3 c
flour
2 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
ground cloves
1 tsp
ground allspice
1 tsp
ground cinnomon
1/2 tsp
salt

Directions Step-By-Step

Cream sugar,butter and eggs. Sift dry ingredients together, then add to wet ingredients.Mix well. Bake in a 11x17 inch pan at 350 degrees until done.Use a cake tester or wooden pick in center; if it comes out clean it is done.

Frosting
2 cups brown sugar
3/4 cup of heavy cream
1 tablespoon of butter
2 tsp vanilla
Boil brown sugar, cream to soft-ball stage. Take off heat.Add butter,cool.Add vanilla,beat until it loses its gloss.Frost the cake with the frosting.
