Butter Rum Cake is part of the Benitez tradition. We never miss any occasion without it. It is usually served after dinner with coffee or tea. We have an extra bottle of Rum for adults who wishes to add more and make it more scrumpttious.

Ingredients

LIST 1

3 stick
butter
1 c
sugar

egg yolk
3 1/2 c
all purpose flour
1 Tbsp
fine salt
1 Tbsp
baking powder
1/4 c
rum
1/4 c
water

LIST 2

egg whites
1/4 tsp
cream of tartar
3/4 c
white sugar

LIST 3

1/4 c
water
1/2 c
white sugar
1/2 c
butter
2 Tbsp
rum

Step-By-Step

1Beat in a bowl all List 1 ingredients.

2In a separate bowl beat List 2 ingredients.

3Fold together and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 mins.

4Put together List 3 ingredients in a sauce pan and heat on a stove. Do not boil.

5Pour sauce on the cake. Ready to serve.
