Lisa's Story

This is a favorite at the church suppers. Instead of baking it in a 9x13 pan, we usually bake it in a bundt pan.

Ingredients

1
butter pecan cake mix
4
eggs
1 c
milk
1/2 c
oil
1 can(s)
coconut frosting

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Mix the butter pecan cake mix, eggs, milk, and oil.
2
Add can of coconut frosting to the batter.
3
Pour into 9x13 baking pan.
4
Bake for 35 minutes at 350 degrees. (If you use a bundt pan, bake for 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Hey Deb, Sorry I missed this for so long ... when I do it I mix cake to instructions on box, then just lightly stir in icing ... yes it is the coconut/pecan frosting ... I like using the Bundt pan best for both cakes. But when I do the Butter Pecan cake I make it just like the recipe here by Lisa. it is wonderful ... amazing how they both taste so different!

Yes Deb it is the coconut/pecan frosting. I'm sure the German Chocolate version is the same.

First of all, when you say "coconut frosting" do you mean the coconut/pecan frosting usually used for a German Chocolate Cake?
Also, to SheilaJo: When making the German Chocolate cake mix version, is the recipe the same except using GC cake mix & GC frosting?
Both sound unique, easy, and delicious! I will be making both! Thanks!
