Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
5 tbsp. chocolate
2/3 c. milk
2 c. cake flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup whisky

Directions

Cream together 1/2 cup shortening and 1 1/2 cups sugar. Add 3 eggs, one at a time and beat well, 5 tablespoons chocolate, 2/3 cup milk. Add alternately with flour mixture. Sift 2 cups cake flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder and 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 2 teaspoons vanilla.

FILLING BETWEEN LAYERS:

1 1/2 c. milk
2 egg yolks
6 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. vanilla

Cooked together. Add beaten egg whites after taking from stove. Add 1 cup walnuts.
Bake at 400 degrees 20 to 30 minutes.

MOCHA FROSTING:

3 c. powdered sugar
Shortening size of lg. egg
1 egg
1 tbsp. chocolate
Pinch of salt

Beat all together. Add enough hot coffee to make spread.

oops. It's 1/4 cup whisky. Haven't been feeling well, so better leave recipes alone for a bit.
