Ingredients

1/2 c
margarine
1 c
water
2 oz
unsweetened chocolate
2 c
all-purpose flour
2 c
sugar

eggs
1/2 tsp
salt
1 1/2 tsp
baking soda
1/2 c
buttermilk
1 tsp
vanilla extract

FROSTING INGREDIENTS

1/2 c
margarine
1/4 c
unsweetened cocoa powder
1 Tbsp
vanilla
1 lb
powdered sugar
2 Tbsp
milk

Step-By-Step

1Cake Directions:
2Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13-inch pan.
3In a microwave-safe bowl, microwave chocolate, margarine and water until melted. Stir occasionally until chocolate is smooth. Allow to cool to room temperature.
4In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, salt and soda. Pour in milk and eggs. Mix the cooled chocolate mixture into the batter. Pour into prepared pan.
5Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
6Frosting Directions:
7In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in cocoa and vanilla.
8Place confectioners' sugar in a large bowl. Pour in cocoa mixture. Beat well (mixture will be extremely thick).
9Beat in milk, a teaspoon at a time, until desired consistency is achieved.
