butter or margarine
Cream until light and fluffy the butter,white sugar and brown sugar. Beat in the vanilla and eggs. Blend in the molasses.
Combine flour, cocoa, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, baking powder and soda in a bowl.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture alternately with the buttermilk. Be sure to beat well after each addition.
Pour into a well greased bundt or tube pan. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes at 350 degrees or until cake tests done.
Cool cake for 30 minutes. Turn out on rack to complete cooling.
