Apple Upside- Down Cake

This Apple Upside- Down Cake is so good....I made it One year for Thanksgiving. By accident I left out the buttermilk !! But you know what it came out perfect anyways!!!

Hope who ever makes this cake will enjoy it almost as much as I did making it.

Ingredients

1 1/2 stick
butter, room temperature
1/3 c
brown sugar
2 Tbsp
pure maple syrup
2 large
granny smith apples---peeled, cored and cut into 1/2 to 1 inch cubes
1/2 c
coarsely chopped hazelnuts or almonds
1 tsp
fresh lemon juice
1/2 tsp
ground cardamom or cinnamon
1/2 tsp
sat
1 1/2 c
all purpose flour
1 tsp
baking powder
3/4 c
granulated sugar
2 large
eggs, at room temperature
1/2 tsp
pure vanilla extract
1/2 c
buttermilk

Step-By-Step

1PREHEAT OVEN 350 DEGREES BUTTER A DEEP DISH 9 INCH ROUND PIE PLATE. iN MEDIUM SAUCE PAN MELT 4 TBS. BUTTER.

2aDD BROWN SUGAR AND MAPLE SYRUP AND STIR OVER MEDIUM HEAT UNTILL SUGAR BUBBLES. rEMOVE FROM HEAT STIR IN THE APPLES, NUTS, LEMON JUICE, CINNAMON AND A PINCH OF SALT.

3SPREAD THE MIXTURE OVER THE BOTTOM OF THE PREPARED PIE PAN. iN A MEDIUM BOWL WHISK TOGETHER THE FLOUR, BAKING POWDER AND 1/4 TSP. SALT SET ASIDE.

4iN MIXER BEAT REMAINING 8 TBS. OF Butter untill smooth add sugar beat on medium speed, untill light and fluffy. Add eggs 1 at a time untill incoperated, mix vanilla add flour mixture in 3 parts alterating buttermilk.
