How To Make apple crumble skillet cake
-
1Preheat oven to 350F. Spray a 10 inch ovenproof skillet with nonstick baking spray with flour. Set aside. For cake: In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar at medium speed with an electric mixer until fluffy, 3-4 minutes, stopping occasionally to scrape down sides of bowl. Add egg; beat well. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In a small bowl, whisk together sour cream and milk. With mixer on low speed, add flour mixture to butter mixture in thirds, alternating with milk mixture, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Beat in vanilla; fold in apple. Spoon batter into prepared skillet, smoothing top with an offset spatula.

2For crumble: In a medium bowl, stir together oats, flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Add melted butter, tossing with a fork until crumbly. Sprinkle over batter. Bake until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, 35-40 minutes. Let cool completely on a wire rack.
