This is a quick and easy recipe that is always a hit and it calls for common ingredients that most cupboards already contain. I got the recipe from a Lunds & Byerlys cookbook that was published several years ago. I serve it plain or it is especially good with whipped cream. I hope you like it.

Ingredients For almond bars / cake
- CREAM TOGETHER:

2 csugar

1 cbutter - softened
-
4eggs -- (i always use large or jumbo eggs)

2 tspalmond extract
- BEAT IN:

2 call purpose flour

1/2 tspbaking powder

1/8 tspsalt
- SPREAD IN 9 X 13 PREPARED PAN (BATTER IS SUPPOSED TO BE THICK) THEN, IN A SMALL BOWL COMBINE:

1/2 csliced or slivered almonds

1 1/2 Tbspsugar
How To Make almond bars / cake

1Before baking, sprinkle with almond and sugar mix.

2Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until done by wooden pick tester.
