3 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake

A favorite because you can have chocolate cake anytime.

Ingredients

4 Tbsp
all purpose flour
4 Tbsp
sugar
2 Tbsp
baking cocoa
1
egg
3 Tbsp
milk
3 Tbsp
oil
3 Tbsp
chocolate chips (optional)
1/8 tsp
vanilla extract

Directions Step-By-Step

Add dry ingredients to Microwaveable Coffee Mug and mix well.

Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.

Add chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla (spalsh to taste) Mix again.

Put your mug into the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed.

Allow to cool a little. Can be tipped out on a plate if desired.

Mug cakes are more dense. They don't totally replace a cake, but when you have a chocolate urge it's handy. Also, only two in our household, so whole cakes are not always practical for us to eat. I have never substituted, so I can't say if it would make any difference. Hope you have success. No recipe is everyone's "cup" of tea. But, this has saved our sweet cravings many times.

I always wanted to try a mug cake, but never have. Maybe I'll try this one today before work.

No.. I didn't either..I've used it to replace white sugar many times..
I think it had more to do w/forgetting the vanilla and then adding it after it had already begun to cook...:(

It's hard to judge a recipe when you can't use all the recommended ingredients. Although I don't think brown sugar would make any difference.

And I used brown sugar as I'm currently out of white sugar...:(
