Serves:

AS MANY AS YOU WANT TO SERVE

Prep:

6 Hr

Cook:

20 Min

Ingredients

2 c
pinto beans dry
2 can(s)
chicken stock
plenty of water
3 Tbsp
garlic salt
3 Tbsp
pepper
2 Tbsp
cumin
3 stick
chile powder (not hot)
1
whole yellow onion
1
pound of bacon

Directions Step-By-Step

1
FIRST YOU WANT TO GO THROUGH YOUR BEANS THE NIGHT BEFORE
AND CHECK FOR ROCKS AND SUCH, THEN SOAK THEM OVER NIGHT.
2
IN THE MORNING DRAIN YOUR WATER AND IN A LARGE POT PUT YOUR BEANS,CHICKEN BROTH, AND WATER IN- THE WATER NEEDS TO BE AROUND 2 INCHES ABOVE YOUR BEANS-THEN CHOP YOUR ONION IN BIG CHUNKS AND ADD TO BEANS, THEN ADD ALL OF YOUR SEASONINGS.
3
I LIKE TO COOK IT ON MEDIUM STIRRING AS NEEDED (PRETTY OFTEN).LET COOK TILL BEANS ARE DONE. YOU CAN ADD MORE OR LESS OF ANY SPICES THAT YOU WANT.
4
AFTER YOUR DONE EATING THEM WITH YOUR DINNER, YOU SHOULD HAVE PLENTY OF LEFTOVERS - PUT THEM IN THE FRIDGE. NOW THE NEXT MORNING IS THE YUMMMMMY PART.
FRY UP SOME BACON- REMOVE THE BACON AND LEAVE ABOUT 1/4 CUP OF THE GREASE- PUT YOUR COLD BEANS IN AND LET THEM FRY TILL THEY ARE CRISPY. SOME MAY STICK TOGETHER BUT THAT'S OK - THEY ARE DELICIOUS. ENJOY MY GRANDPAS BEANS- I BET THEY BECOME A FAVORITE FOR YOU!!! (HINT- USE A CAST IRON SKILLET TO FRY THE BEANS)
