Janice's Buttermilk Pancakes

sifted all purpose flour
Sift together the sifted flour, baking powder,baking soda and salt.
In a separate bowl, combine the egg, buttermilk and vanilla extract. Add to the flour mixture, stirring only until smooth.
Blend in the melted butter and sugar.
Cook on a medium-hot lightly greased grill or greased electric skillet at 350 degrees. Use about 1/4 cup for each pancake. Drop the batter onto the griddle.
Cook until the pancakes are brown on side and around the edges, then flip and brown the other side.
