Cheese Grits

My sister-in-laws friend, Lisa,
in South Carolina made these for us when we visited. Sooooo good!

Stove Top


2 slice
or more, bacon - cook and crumble
2 can(s)
14 1/2 oz cans chicken broth
1/2 tsp
1 c
quick cooking grits
2 can(s)
ro-tel tomatoes w/green chilis
1 c
medium sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Directions Step-By-Step

Cook bacon and reserve drippings.
Bring drippings, chicken broth and salt to boil.
Stir in grits and tomatoes and return to boil, stirring often.
Reduce heat and simmer 15 - 20 minutes, stirring often.
Stir in cheese and bacon. Cover and let stand 5 minutes.
Can be put in crock pot on warm to serve.
