My mother-in-law always made the best French toast and said it was due to her "secret ingredient." She finally told me what her "secret ingredient" was, so I added it to my own mixture which was slightly different than hers, and am now happy to share this with others. I believe in sharing recipes, family "secrets" and all, because it helps us all be better cooks. I hope you'll give this recipe a try next time you want to fix French toast for your family. Enjoy!

I loved the addition of Parmesan cheese to the dipping mixture. It's something I never thought of and adds a savory flavor. The optional Bananas Foster topping is a must! It brings this French toast to a whole new level. So good!
