I love creating new recipes. I usually base what I am making on what I am craving or on an accidental find. I was given some delicious and thick bread this week and that is how this amazing recipe started. With previous knowledge of what my family likes and advice from fellow friends and chefs I created this masterpiece. Be careful, it is so delicious you will want to eat two but in reality one more than fills you up! (Most photos are mine, but some are courtesy of Google Images.)

How To Make banana stuffed french toast

  • 1
Preheat Skillet. Mix together eggs, milk, and vanilla. You can adjust the amount of milk to your liking.
  • 2
Soak pieces of bread in milk and egg mixture. Place on preheated nonstick skillet. Cook for approximately 3 minutes on each side. You will have to use your judgement here because different thicknesses of bread will absorb different amounts of milk. Cook to your desired doneness.
  • 3
mix together cream cheese, powdered sugar, heavy cream and vanilla. The amounts are estimated because the end result varies depending on taste and desired thickness. If you want a thinner stuffing use more milk, if you want thicker stuffing use more powdered sugar.
  • 4
    preheat oven to 350.
  • 5
place 4 pieces of French Toast on baking pan (I covered mine in foil to make clean up easier!). Spread stuffing on bread. I put a thin layer of stuffing on each side of the bread, but you could put a thicker "glob" on this side and skip buttering the other slices of bread.
  • 6
place sliced bananas on bread next.
  • 7
Cover with remaining slices of French Toast
  • 8
place baking pan in preheated oven for approximately 5 minutes. You don't want to cook anything, but you want to warm up your bread and soften your stuffing just a little bit.
  • 9
place your Stuffed French Toast on plates, top with banana slices and drizzle with warmed Roasted Pecan Maple Syrup or syrup of your choice. You don't need much syrup because this is a very rich dish already.
