This recipe comes from my organic delivery company. It's going on the menu as soon as I get some pears--yum! This is recommended as a breakfast accompaniment with a breakfast sandwich or other dish. It could also be dessert any time! 09-23-2016

Ingredients For sweet sauteed pears

  • 2 Tbsp
    unsalted butter
  • 4
    red bartlett pears, ripe but firm, cut into 12 wedges
  • 4 Tbsp
    maple syrup
  • pinch
    salt

How To Make sweet sauteed pears

  • 1
    In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add pears and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3-5 minutes.

    Drizzle in maple syrup and season with a pinch of salt. Or, if you use salted butter, omit the pinch of salt.

    Reduce heat to low and simmer until pears are soft, about 1 to 3 minutes.
