Growing up with wonderful & amazing grandparents I have such fond memories of them. My Grammie's persistence to eat healthy have stuck with me more than anything else & I try to keep those choices first. One fruit Grammie loved more than any other was grapefruit. (I really thought she had to be the only one.) LOL As I did not care for it when I was young. But now it's a nostalgic necessity to sit down & savor every bite of a ruby red while my thoughts go back to the greatest lady I have ever known. I do my best to remember her words of wisdom shared with me in the sweet hills of West Virginia.

  • 2 pinch

How To Make grammie's grapefruit

  • 1
Slice ruby red grapefruit in half. Then take your knife and cut around the inside of fruit and slice across it in the sections, so you can spoon it out easier. If you have a grapefruit spoon then it will do the work for you. Sprinkle on some brown sugar, a little spice if you like and a drizzle of balsamic glaze too. (I like to have a couple slices of bacon and a slice of toasted cheese bread with my grapefruit.)

Make sure you drink up the extra juice and get all the fruit out. My Gram was the inspector to make sure we ate our entire 1/2 grapefruit. hehe
