apple fritter bites

These really go together pretty quickly, which I have a small fryer and make these once in a while for hubby and myself in the mornings.

Ingredients For apple fritter bites

  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbl butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup chopped apple
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tbl milk or half and half
  • oil for frying

How To Make apple fritter bites

    In a medium bowl mix flour, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon and salt, set aside In a small bowl stir together milk, egg, vanilla and melted butter until egg is mixed well

    Pour into dry ingredients and just stir until all ingredients are mixed. Add apples and fold gently.

    Heat oil to around 365 degrees and drop batter into oil with a small cookie scooper being careful not to over crowd the fritters.

    Once the oil bubbles, turn the fritters over and flatten a bit and fry until golden brown. It takes approximately 35 seconds on each side. Removed from fryer and continue cooking fritters.

    When they are slightly cooled, mix in a small bowl the powdered sugar and milk or half and half and mix until smooth and creamy. Drip the fritters in the glaze and place on a wire rack. Enjoy!!!
