My friend Pauline, who sends me great recipes on a regular basis sent this one that was served at her chuch breakfast. I entered it in a chili cook-off and it was a winner! Start it the night before, cook the eggs and hashbrowns the next morning and you're off to the breakfast or brunch. even an early tailgate party

Ingredients For pauline's church breakfast chili

  • 2 lb
    bulk pork suasage, cooked and well drained
  • 1 lb
    bacon, cooked or diced ham
  • 2 can
    (15 oz) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2 can
    (15 oz ) sm diced tomatoes
  • 1 jar
    (24 oz) spaghetti sauce
  • 1 can
    ( 6 oz) tomato paste
  • 2
    onions, diced
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 16 oz
    bag frozen or refrigerated hashbrowns
  • 6
    eggs

How To Make pauline's church breakfast chili

    Brown and drain sausage. Cook bacon and dice. Place all ingredients except hashbrowns and eggs in crockpot and turn on low before going to bed.

    In the morning, brown hashbrowns. cook scrambled eggs and then dice. Add these to the crockpot ingredients in the morning snd you're good to go. Great for a crowd.
