This is one of the classic recipes from my childhood. We always had this breakfast casserole on Christmas morning, and anytime when we had family overnight.

Ingredients For sausage and egg casserole

  • 1 lb
    bulk pork sausage
  • 6 lg
    eggs
  • 2 c
    milk
  • 1 c
    shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 6 slice
    bread, cubed

How To Make sausage and egg casserole

    Day One: Brown sausage, leaving it in nice size chunks (do not break it up). Drain well and refrigerate.

    Beat remaining ingredients (except bread) until light, and fluffy. Stir in bread : cover and chill overnight.

    Day Two: (If left overnight, remove from refrigerator 15 minutes before baking). Preheat oven to 350 F Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking pan or casserole dish. Put in sausage, pour egg and bread mixture over sausage Bake 45 to 60 minutes. Serve hot
