Quiche Lorraine with Gruyere

I tried to pinch it with the app, but because I had already pinched a recipe called Quiche Lorraine, it would only show that first recipe (I renamed this recipe to include the Gruyere ingredient for ease of identification; the original title was simply Quiche Lorraine).

Ingredients

5 oz
shortcrust pastry
6 oz
gruyere cheese
6 oz
bacon
2
eggs, beaten
1 pinch
cayenne pepper
1 pinch
grated nutmeg
2/3 c
single cream

Step-By-Step

1Line an 18-cm(7-in) flan tin or sandwich cake tin with the pastry.

2Place a layer of cheese on the pastry, then a layer of bacon, and repeat until both ingredients have been used up.

3Mix the eggs with the cayenne pepper, nutmeg, and cream or milk, then pour over the cheese and bacon mixture in the flan case.

4Bake near the top of the oven at 200 degrees C (400 degrees F) Gas mark 6 for about 30 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and the filling set.

5Serve hot or cold.
