STEEN'S GINGERBREAD

I remember coming home after school to the wonderful aroma of spices, my Mom made this Gingerbread as an after school snack. Today, this is one of my favorites.

Ingredients

1/2 c
shortening
1/2 c
sugar
2
eggs, beaten
2 1/2 c
sifted all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
soda
1/2 tsp
salt
1 tsp
ginger
1 tsp
cinnamon
1/4 tsp
cloves
1 c
steen's syrup
1 c
boiling water

Step-By-Step

1Cream the shortening and sugar until fluffy.

2Add eggs, sifted all purpose flour, baking powder, soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon and cloves alternately with the Steen Syrup and water.

3Beat enough to mix thoroughly, pour into a well-greased 9x13 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes
