Ingredients

1/2 c
molasses
1/2 c
sugar
1
egg, well beaten
1 1/2 c
sifted flour
1/2 tsp
cinnamon
1/4 tsp
cloves
1 tsp
ginger
1 tsp
baking soda
1/4 tsp
salt
1/2 c
vegetable oil
1/2 c
boiling water

Directions Step-By-Step

Stir molasses and sugar into beaten egg, beating well. Sift flour, spices, and salt together and mix into molasses mixture. Pour boiling water into vegetable oil, add to other ingredients, mixing into a smooth batter. Bake in a well oiled 8x8x2 inch pan at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
