My 1st & 2nd grade school teacher whom I loved dearly and who is now my oldest daughter's grandmother-in-law makes this all the time and gives the loaves away. It is always so delicious and everyone likes this bread. We use it for a breakfast item, snack or dessert.
Combine all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl, gradually add the liquid ingredients and mix well. Beat 2 minutes with an electric mixer. Grease 2 loaf pans, then divide batter in pans equally. Bake for 1 hour (or less) in a 350 degree oven until set in the center. Can add a glaze if desired after cooling.
