Plain old Fashion Tea-Scones
- 4 Tbsp
- butter (diced)
- 10 oz
- selfraising flour
- 1 tsp
- baking powder
- 1-1/2 oz
- caster sugar
- 5 Tbsp
- cows milk
- beaten egg with pinch of salt for glazing
sift the flour , baking powder and salt together in a bowl.
Rub in the butter with your fingertips until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs, stir in the sugar.
Make a well in the centre and pour in a sufficient amount of milk to make a soft dough.
Place into a pre-headed oven for 12 - 15 minutes until well risen and golden. Transfer to a wire rack and leave to cool.
TO SERVE = Split and serve still warm with a dollop of whipped cream and strawberry jam go on be bold....enjoy...:)
