I used to make this for my son for supper sometimes. I would serve it with Bacon, of course. Very easy recipe

Ingredients For harvest apple french toast

  • YOU MAY USE ANY FRUIT THAT YOU LIKE, I HAVE USED FRESH PLUMS AND BERRIES, THEY ARE ALL JUST AS GOOD
  • 4 slice
    french bread
  • 2 lg
    eggs
  • 1 dash
    milk
  • 6 slice
    bacon
  • 1 dash
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/4 stick
    butter
  • 2 lg
    apples
  • 1/2-3/4 c
    sugar

How To Make harvest apple french toast

    First fry your bacon however you prefer it, set aside, keep warm. Save bacon grease
  • 2
    Mix egg, milk, vanilla, cinnamon together well. Cut french bread thick 1 inch -2 inches, dip into egg mixture, the thicker the bread the longer you soak it. Fry in the bacon grease, add a little margarine if not enough bacon grease.

    While french toast is cooking put the butter into a frying pan, slice apples as if for apple pie, start frying on low to medium heat until tender, add sugar, stir until it melts and looks golden.

    Place French toast onto plate , Pour over a couple spoonfuls of the apple sauce, however much you want, place bacon beside it and serve.
