German Potato Doughnuts

1Mix all ingredients.
2Roll out fairly thick (about 1").
3Cut in 2" or 3" strips
4Drop in hot fat and fry until brown. They form interesting shapes as they fry. Roll in powder sugar or cinnamon sugar.

I got a recipe that is quite similar during the Bicentennial and they all loved it. Would double the recipe after dinner and fry them ...was lucky to find one by breakfast they would pig out on them. Someone in Texas bet me I couldn't make doughnuts with mashed potatoes and one of them even came up with the cup of mashed potatoes. So the bet was on went next door to my place and made the doughnuts for them guess you know they lost that bet once again there were no doughnuts left no crumbs either.
