Ingredients

DANISH

1 pkg
crescent rolls (8oz)

FILLING

1 pkg
cream cheese, room temperature, (8 oz)
1/4 c
sugar
1 tsp
lime or lemon zest
1 c
pecans (whole or pieces or halves...whatever you like)

DRIZZLE

1 c
powdered sugar
5-6 Tbsp
half and half or heavy cream
1 pinch
(actually a splash) almond extract (vanilla is ok, too)

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Roll out crescents and separate by 2s's (so that rectangles are forms) and place side by side so that one long rectangle is formed. Press to seal seems.
2
Mix filling ingredients except pecans together and spread down center. Top with pecans.
3
Cut diagonal slits up from the outer edge to the filling. Fold over each other so that a braided pattern is formed.
4
Bake for 20 - 30 minutes in 375 oven. Check for extra browning and cover with foil if it started to become too dark. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
5
Mix together Drizzle ingredients and drizzle over "danish".
