1/2 tspsalt

1/4 csugar

1/4 cmini semisweet chocolate chips

1/2 cdried cherries, chopped

1 1/4 cwhipping cream

garnish: additional cream, coarse sugar
How To Make chocolate cherry cream scones

1Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a bowl; whisk to blend well. Add chocolate chips and cherries. Stir dry ingredients while pouring in cream, continuing to stir until a soft, sticky dough is formed. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead 8-10 times. Pat dough into a circle 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch thick; cut into 8 wedges.

2Place wedges one inch apart on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Brush with cream; sprinkle generously with coarse sugar. Bake at 425F until golden and springy to the touch, about 15 minutes.
