Ingredients For chocolate cherry cream scones

  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1/4 c
    mini semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c
    dried cherries, chopped
  • 1 1/4 c
    whipping cream
  • garnish: additional cream, coarse sugar

How To Make chocolate cherry cream scones

    Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a bowl; whisk to blend well. Add chocolate chips and cherries. Stir dry ingredients while pouring in cream, continuing to stir until a soft, sticky dough is formed. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead 8-10 times. Pat dough into a circle 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch thick; cut into 8 wedges.

    Place wedges one inch apart on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Brush with cream; sprinkle generously with coarse sugar. Bake at 425F until golden and springy to the touch, about 15 minutes.
