Ingredients For caramel banana buttermilk bread

  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    unsalted butter softened
  • 2 lg
    eggs
  • 4
    ripe bananas mashed
  • 1 Tbsp
    caramel syrup
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/3 c
    buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 c
    unbleached white flour
  • 1 c
    finely chopped pecans

How To Make caramel banana buttermilk bread

    In large bowl cream together, sugar & butter; add eggs one at a time. Beat in mashed bananas, caramel and continue beating until smooth. Add baking soda to buttermilk in small mixing bowl then add to banana mixture along with flour and nuts don't over mix. Pour batter into greased and floured 9X5 loaf pan, bake in preheated 350 degrees oven for one hour or until tooth pick comes out clean. Best if transfered to cooling rack for 10 min. then scrap sides and slip out of pan until completely cooled. makes one loaf. Nuts are optional. Freezes nicely and great for gift giving.
