There are many good banana bread recipes out there but this one is by far the best of them. I found this in the "Recipe Hall of Fame Cookbook" and it can be halved or doubled, as you like. I have added my own preferences, like a cup of raisins (the golden ones)and my favorite caramel icing. Incredibly yummy!
Mix sour cream and baking soda together in separate bowl and let stand until foamy.
Add the rest of the ingredients to the above mixture and mix well. Place into 4 greased and floured 9x5 in. bread pans (I use Baker's Joy) and bake 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Note from someone called Marcus from Iowa: A good use of ripe bananas, this makes 4 loaves, so I often halve it. Okay to use Egg Beaters, low-fat sour cream and margarine-superb!
