My stepdaudhter had baked this bread and I had some and it was so good and moist, that I had to have her recipe.I make it all the time for home & church.Everyone just loves it.I have made it for bake sales and it is the frist thing that sales.

Ingredients For banana nut bread

  • 11/2 cups
    white sugar
  • 1/2 cup
    shortening
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1/2 cup
    sour cream
  • 1 tsp.
    vanilla extract
  • 2 cups
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp.
    soda
  • 1/4 tsp.
    salt
  • 4
    ripe bananas
  • 3/4 cup
    walnut pieces (optional)

How To Make banana nut bread

  • 1
    Cream together eggs,sugar,shortening.

    Add in sour cream, vanilla,and bananas.

    Mix in separate bowl flour, salt and soda.Combine together.

    Then stir in walnuts.(optional)

    2 bread loaf pans grease and flour well, before putting in mixture.Divide in each pan.

    Bake at 350 for 40 or 45 minutes. Check with a toothpick,to see if it is done in middle.
