My husband loves spicy & zesty food - everything has to be well seasoned! He and I came up with this recipe together.

Ingredients

1 pkg
rye bread (light or dark)
1 pkg
white or wheat bread
1 c
olive oil, extra virgin
1/2 c
parmesan cheese
1 Tbsp
garlic powder
1 Tbsp
italian seasoning
1 Tbsp
freshly ground black pepper
1 tsp
salt

Directions Step-By-Step

Preheat oven to 375 degrees

Cut bread into 1 inch cubes

Put in large mixing bowl & drizzle olive oil over the bread until well coated

Sprinkle cheese, garlic powder, italian seasoning, and salt & pepper over bread cubes and mix

Transfer to a large baking pan or cookie sheet and arrange to one layer

Bake for 10 minutes, remove pan from oven and stir croutons

Bake for 10 more minutes or until desired crunchiness

Cool on pan and transfer to air-tight container

Amount of seasoning can be adjusted to your preference. Bread doesn't have to be fresh - we buy day old bread from the store's bakery. The aroma while cooking will make your house smell great!
