Ingredients For little pup hushpuppies

  • 2 c
    self-rising cornmeal
  • 4 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 3 Tbsp
    minced onion
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 c
    water
  • cooking oil

How To Make little pup hushpuppies

  • 1
    Mix first five ingredients together in a bowl. Heat oil in deep fryer or deep boiler on stove. Turn oil to high and then reduce heat to medium to medium high. Use 2 spoons to drop small balls of batter into hot oil. Drop a couple of hushpuppies in oil at a time. When browned remove from oil with a slotted spoon to drain on plate, paper towels, etc.
