Ingredients

1 c all purpose flour
1 c cornmeal
3 1/2 tsp baking powder
2 1/2 Tbsp sugar
3 beaten eggs
2 1/2 c milk
1/2 c vegetable oil
1 can cream corn
1 1/2 c cheddar cheese, shredded
4-5 pieces bacon cooked and crumbled
4-5 jalapenos chopped fine (seeds removed)
2 tsp garlic minced

We love this with chili.

 

Directions

Combine all ingredients together and pour into 2 small or 1 large buttered baking dish. Bake for 30-35 mins in a 400 degree preheated oven. If making muffins adjust cooking time accordingly.

Can you leave out the sugar in this recipe?

Yes by all means. We like our cornbread on the sweeter side but I know a lot of people especially from the south don't add sugar to their cornbread.
