I usually don't post refrigerated dough recipes,but this one is an exception.It is really tasty,and actually not that fattening. Has 6 grams of fat and 200 calories per serving.The sweetness of the apple with the cheddar cheese is really good.You don't have to feel guilty eating it. Enjoy friends!!!

Ingredients For cheddar bread with apple filling

  • 2/3 c
    apple butter
  • 2/3 c
    apple sauce
  • 2 tsp
    corn starch
  • 2 Tbsp
    honey
  • 1/4 c
    sliced almonds
  • 6 oz
    neufchatel cheese softened
  • 1 1/2 c
    reduced fat of light grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1
    13 ounce tube of refrigerated crusty italian,or pizza dough ready to bake bread.

How To Make cheddar bread with apple filling

    pre heat oven to 350 degree's

    mix together the cheeses in a bowl.Set them aside.

    In a another bowl. mix apple sauce,apple butter,and corn starch. set aside.

    Coat cookie sheet with cooking spray.Unroll the dough on a cookie sheet.Press in to a large rectangle.Spread the cheese down the center of the dough length wise.

    Put the apple mixture on top of the cheese mixture evenly.Make diagonal cuts on the outside of the filling mixture.about 1/2 inch back from filling,and 1 1/2 inches apart.

    overlap the strips you cut alternating over the filling.over lap them on an angle.Drizzle the honey over the loaf,and sprinkle the almonds on top of the honey.

    bake at 350 degree's for 30 minutes,or until light brown.Serve while it is still warm.
