bloomin' onion bread
(1 rating)
This naughty Bloomin' Onion Bread has cheese stuffed in every crack & is cut just like the Bloomin' Onion from Outback. This is really enough to feed a small army. It's a fun way to serve bread because everyone can just pull off a piece of cheesy onion bread. This would be a great appetizer or bread for a meal.

3 Tbsplemon juice
-
2 Tbspdijon mustard
-
1 Tbspgarlic powder
-
1 tsponion powder
-
1/2 tspcelery salt
-
2 tsppoppy seeds
-
1/2 cgreen onions (both greens & whites), finely diced

16 ozmonterey jack cheese, thinly sliced
-
1 loafsourdough bread, unsliced
How To Make bloomin' onion bread
-
1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
-
2In a small bowl, whisk together the first 8 ingredients; set aside.
-
3Cut the bread lengthwise & widthwise without cutting through the bottom crust. This can be a little tricky going the second way but the bread is very forgiving. NOTE: Through experience....it'll be easier to cut lengthwise first, then width. Unfortunately I did it the other way & it was a little hard to do.
-
4Place on a foil lined baking sheet. Insert cheese slices between cuts.
-
5Drizzle butter mixture over bread.
-
6Tent in foil (so that it is not touching the cheese - you know what will happen); place on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 15 minutes. Unwrap the bread & bake 10 more minutes, or until cheese is melted.
