Pat's Story

This recipe is by Angie McGowan and Bisquick. Very simple and sound real delicious although I have not yet tried it.. I do love this type of bread so I will give it a try in the near future.

Ingredients

1/4 c
melted butter
3 c
original bisquick mix
1/3 c
granulated sugar
12 oz
can or bottle light beer
Note:
to make dark beer bread, use dark beer and 2/3 c. packed brown sugar instead of 1/3 cup granulated sugar.can also use nonalcoholic beer.

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Heat oven to 375^. Grease or spray bottom only of a 9x5-inch loaf pan
In a large bowl, stir together Bisquick, sugar and beer then add the melted butter and whisk until well blended. Pour into pan
2
Bake 45-55 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan 10 minutes then run knife around sides of pan and remove loaf to wire rack to cool. Brush all over with melted butter and Cool 15 minutes before slicing. Great to serve with soups and chili.

Thank you for the recipe. I would love to try it this week. You say brush with butter after you bake it. That would be additional butter and not from the 1/4 cup....is that right????
